I certainly have. I am basically a living example of this trope. Especially when I'm in the computer lab, or when an interesting idea or passion comes into my mind.

constantly.

the last occasion was when I was cooking something and got lost in some thought. my mother brought me out of it with shouting, the pan was on fire and I hadn't noticed even though I was holding it.

if something interests me, my brain focuses on it and tends to forget everything else utterly.

I do not know what subject she was teaching but my guess is math. I don't know if my school had a crappy math curriculum, but I remember in grade 5 there was a time when the teacher would write a number on the board and other students were actually struggling in reading numbers IN GRADE 5. It was a joke to me.


That was a common description when I was in elementary school and high school. Now people just think I'm weird :wink:
