I just tuned into the QVC shopping channel. They're trying to sell Christmas gifts!

Meanwhile outside its mid-summer here. How early is too early for Christmas shopping? Has anyone began planning already?

Technically if you want to be cheap you can buy christmas gifts during the boxing day sale the year before.

It is never too early to start shopping for the holidays. There are bargains all year long, why wait until the last few months of the year when you can proactively pick up objects earlier?

If you are currently buying gifts for Christmas 2013, you're too early.

It does seem very early as it is late June and Christmas is still six months away. It'd be tough to start this early because there are other events between now and December, such as people's birthdays, including mine in early November. I often get upset as early as late September about Christmas coming because I'm still getting adjusted to fall and retailers are already preparing for the holidays.

This coming holiday season, I think my family will decorate our house in the latter half of November for the first time ever because I noticed my mother under a lot of stress last year about getting the house all decorated. The tree would be the last thing to go up as we buy a fresh one every year and those don't go on sale until early December.

I think I will tell people that I have converted to being a Muslim or something so that they won't expect me to buy them Christmas gifts.

Yeah, it's never too early, so long as you don't lose what you bought...
