I sneeze at least once or twice a day at work. Its always followed by a God Bless You or Gazoontite - which I honestly dont understand the point of. Is it expected that I say something in return? Do I say thanks? Thank you for blessing me, hopefully now my soul doesnt try escape my head again? lol

Its funny how the most simple of things confuse me.

Don't worry about it. From what I have read (take with a grain of salt), it is from the days of a big plague, and one of the early symptoms was sneezing. Hence, when someone would start sneezing they would start being blessed, because they were most likely fracked at that point.

I never really respond to the blessings because it is just a bunch of sheepy people doing something for no reason that they understand.

Fun fact: it's Gesundheit - German for '(to your) health'.

And yes, just thank them.
