While I love the crew of TOS, I prefer TNG overall.

I thought the plots were well-written, and even when it came to lame plots, it was executed ever so perfectly. And the characters flowed so well with it.

I especially loved that it wasn't a show that talked down to its audience; made it so much more enjoyable.

I was never a fan of most of the enemies on TOS, and at times it got incredibly corny...including things that would spark bar fights and things like that; just a little too over the top.

@TheDoctor82: I feel the exact opposite. while the effects were better in TNG, I like TOS better. TNG had no humanity. TOS had a lot of hilarious moments, especially from spock. TNG was too pretencious.

TNG had some funny moments too--unfortunately, some may have been unintentional.

Ever see the third season's "Hollow Pursuits"? Okay, I'm biased because Reg Barclay is my favorite character (I identify hugely with him) but...the sword-fighting scenes on the holodeck--

IMO, TNG developed its humanity over the course of the series.

Don't get me wrong--I liked some of TOS also--but sometimes it felt repetitive. (Maybe that was just me.)

it's a fortunate thing that ST3 was filmed before B2TF. if it were the other way 'round, then gazillions of trekkies would have their ST experience contaminated with the same thought. or maybe another actor should have played Lloyd's role in search for spock, like peter o'toole for example- or, i can see how peter would be an excellent doc brown in B2TF as well. just some jejune late-night thoughts here.

Good choice, sir! ;)

W O R D to both your mothers! :D

DS9 is far superior to any other incarnation of Star Trek! You just can't beat deep character development and moral ambiguity.

Garak--an awesome Cardassian.

(There are a couple of other Cardassians that interest me more, but Garak's pretty cool.)
