the tng episode titled' tin man' just killed me. best ever. that's the one where the ancient starcreature was going to commit suicide until it joined with the betazoid. data discovered where he belonged. ok. i'm going to go watch it now

my favorite is TOS. it just has more life to it, more humor, and better characters than TNG

There was an episode of the first series where we learn that the Federation includes a planet the ruler of whom personally presides over torture sessions, clapping his hands to indicate that the torture machine is to be engaged. I can just imagine him calling Federation HQ to tell them that he can't make it to the big meeting, he needs to torture some more prisoners.

also, the movies from TOS are 10 x better than TNG movies, IMO

only in the respect that 'khan' was so good. the new ST bridge set was really terrific. i'm still amazed the birth of spock was cut....it was a great tribute to the original.

I prefer to have the phasors set to kill. Beside TOS had Spock. Right there is why it was better.

TOS has Spock, that, in my opinion makes it more likable to me. I will always like Mr. Spock over all other ST characters!! !

TOS and TNG are tied on the matter of their "logical" characters both having record albums/CDs released which played on their respective characters, Spock's being "The 2 sides of Leonard Nimoy" and Data's being "Ol' yellow eyes is back." both are well-worth listening to.
