Hi,

I'm 22 years old and I am a University student from Christchurch. I was diagnosed with Aspergers when I was 13. I love watching movies and generally chilling out, and yes, I'm rather averse to large social gatherings. I was also wondering if anyone around here lives in my area?

Hello Jaevyn welcome to WP, I'm from Wgtn I don't have autism but my son does. There's a few kiwi aspies on here. Hale bopp springs to mind.
How's uni treating you? what subjects are you doing?

Uni's good, I'm doing Postgraduate in European Studies, got my B.Sc in Geography. It's good to hear that there are a few NZers on here.

Welcome to WrongPlanet! I live in Christchurch and have been diagnosed with Aspergers in the last few months. Have seen a few Kiwis on this site. Have you met many other people from Christchurch on this site?

..Geography, the only subject I failed School C in. You had to answer questions like 'draw and label an area with tin deposits' and there'd be some outline of a continent we had studied.
So I drew the area with tin deposits and labelled it 'area with tin deposits' etc. After the exam I realised you were supposed to put the area name..not my best moment. :roll:

Yeah, hale_bopp's prolly the only one of the top of my head besides Nostromo who's from New Zealand. She's also around your age too.
There are prolly more New Zealand aspies though.

but if you're looking to find out, i'd prolly try the General or Random discussion forums. Prolly have better luck.
Since, when saying you're new in this particular forum, as you've prolly already noticed, generally just earns the generic, "welcome to WP" response :lol:

Hi, I'm from Christchurch too, and I go to UC. just finished my second year with a BSc, majoring in physics or astronomy (haven't decided yet). I intend to do honours, then maybe a PhD.
