I just found out there will be a partial solar eclipse on Jan 4th 2011 over my home country of the UK (and most of Europe) which I am rediculously excited about (! !!)

I am also tempted to travel to Australia in a few years to see a Total Solar Eclipse... the only thing is it's just after sun rise, and I'd love to see one mid-day.

As long as I see a Total Eclipse before I die, I'll be happy :) :)

I have only seen a few partial eclipses as a child, my dad would have the camera set up with filters and we all had our welders goggles on

Total solar eclipse coming this Tuesday (July 2nd), but only visible in South America. Here are the details:

(Maybe this can be a universal solar eclipse thread for all places and years, since it has a generic title.) 8)

I guess that the folks in Montevidea and in Buenos Aires will get a ringside seat. But none of us in the northern hemisphere will be able to see it.

I was lucky enough to get totality at my place in Missouri in 2017. It's worth going outside for, and its worth driving a ways to get to totality. Totality is a completely different experience then just a partial eclipse.
