I am not new to the forum, but newly registered. I have been lurking around since July. I went for a formal assessment on the 29th of July and am going today for my de-briefing. Today I will have an answer.

I am a married, mother of two awesome children, both diagnosed on the Spectrum. My son is high functioning and my daughter diagnosed with Asperger's. I started doing research to better help my kids when I started to realize how much my daughter is JUST LIKE ME. These quirks, obsessions etc. I have just dealt with all my life as "normal" were seriously presenting themselves in my daughter too...all things the professionals have told me are part of her being on the spectrum. So hence, the reason for my own assessment. If for anything, just peace of mind to finally have an answer one way or another and know exactly what I am dealing with.
My husband has been truly truly amazing through all of this. He has been supportive, encouraging and reassuring. I couldn't ask for a better man.
So that's it in a nutshell. I am glad I found this forum. It has been a great source of info and comfort for me.
