He might pull through, but it's extraordinarily unlikely. Here's the recent article he wrote about his situation:

I don't follow Hitchens very closely, but I love watching him debate, mainly because he's among the most astonishingly eloquent human beings on the planet. I never followed the Iraq War very closely, either, but hearing his unconventional opinions on the topic was always interesting. It's a real pity that he might be gone soon.

I just read some online info about him, as I only knew about the not-so-great-God book he wrote.

Now he can write something memorable about his cancer.

Christopher Hitchens is very candid as to how he writes and talks aka he is not politically-correct.

That is a great quality - a rare quality (my view).

Damn, I can see the religious nutbags coming out in droves on this. Fodder for the Phelps' WBC and their ilk.

But seriously... A great man, an asset to his generation, his era and the future, he will be missed if he dies.
I'd say i was pulling for him to make it through (which the irrational part of me does), but as a fellow atheist he would know how empty and meaningless it is to "pull" or "hope" for someone, when your actions have no effect.
