Hi! I'm new here. I don't think that I have Asperger's, but may have NVLD... I don't know. I just learned about it from SabbraCaddabra on a totally unrelated forum. I am sure that I have ADD, inattentive type. However I am undiagnosed. I am an INFP.

This is very interesting to me. As an INFP, I feel things deeply and have a strong degree of empathy. However, this does not show outwardly. Well... it particularly did not show outwardly when I was a kid. As an adult I have learned to express my feelings more, although mostly for the benefit of others. I prefer to keep my feelings private otherwise. I think that this is not unusual for INFPs, although some appear to be more demonstrative. In my experience with other INFPs, ADD seems to be somewhat common. However, I have never heard from an INFP on the autism spectrum. So the question of this thread makes me curious. Asperger's seems much more like the INTP type from what I have read. How do those of you who are INFPs feel like your personality fits with your diagnosis?

infj here. have a sister with just a few autistic characteristics who's infp.

Well, it's not the most common personality type for people on the spectrum, but it's not rare either.

I’m INFP, sometimes when I read the female asperger’s traits it sounds just like an INFP personality description. The part of INFP I don’t identify with is that supposedly we are always looking for that special SO that can be our whole world. Umm, no - I prefer to be on my own. I also don’t like sad and dark stuff like an INFP is supposed to like - I love a happy ending!

I don't know about that. Polls appeal to the whole identity obsession that is a central component of the INFP personality.

It looks like the INFP is 9 times more common than half of the personality types. Though those were all extroverts. It ranks the fourth most common personality type.

Though the fact that it is a poll, which may attract INFPs, and the fact that this is a forum and writing is the INFP's preferred method of communication might bias the test somewhat.

Agreed. Besides, the number of people responding to that poll was insufficient to find any statistically significant pattern.

I'm an INFP (except when I'm manic in which case I'm an ENFP), and while I definitely am an emotional person for me it's more to do with putting my personal moral values above logic or pragmatism as opposed to straight-up feelings. Basically I'm an idealist rather than a realist.

I’ve been into MBTI before I joined WP and have tested INFJ 90% of the time and INFP the rest. Percentage wise my J and P score are almost 50/50.
