According to that poll, it's not common. But maybe it's just that INFPs don't like responding to polls.

I don't know about that. Polls appeal to the whole identity obsession that is a central component of the INFP personality.

It looks like the INFP is 9 times more common than half of the personality types. Though those were all extroverts. It ranks the fourth most common personality type.

Though the fact that it is a poll, which may attract INFPs, and the fact that this is a forum and writing is the INFP's preferred method of communication might bias the test somewhat.

I wouldn't read into it that closely.

I'm an INFP, or at least it's what I get on average.

I haven't run into too many INFP's here, they're sorta rare, but that's because the F is hard to come by here, I guess. I think it's because the T is more associated with Asperger's/Autism.

INTP seems much more common. Personally I'm halfway between INTP and INFP. I don't know if my judging function is thinking or feeling. I tend to do both. I can be emotional or logical depending on the circumstances.

The INTP is the second most common personality type with about twice the number as INFP.

Compare with that:

http://www.myersbriggs.org/my-mbti-pers ... y-type.asp

9% of INFP in the forum vs. 4.4% in US population. Then, I would say that is relatively common in autistic people.

It's a personality type. The test is called MBTI test.

Well, let me be clearer. Among polled aspies on Wrong Planet, INFP is less common than some of the other types.

I am INFP/INFJ. Most of the INFP description fits me to a T though, like creepily so.

I don't think it is all that rare, especially for females. The INFP description sounds very Aspie female to me.

Then I am an anomaly. I am female and strongly INTJ.

I'm INFJ, it fits quite well, though I'd be INTJ in some situations.

I've noticed from the polls and postings here that xxFx tends to be females more than males, and xxTx tends to be males more than females. So it's not a gender split, just proportionally more xxFx's are female rather than male, and vice-versa.

But that's just an impression, rather than actual stats.
