I love the sacred cantatas of Bach, they should be listened by everybody, they have a richness and sprituality that is timeless. They speak to the universal values and truths of existence, In my opinion the St Matthew Passion is much better than Mel Gibson's The Passion.

I must agree wholeheartedly here. There is absolutely no comparison to the works by J.S. Bach. They are beautiful, and stunning in scope. (Dvorak's Stabat Mater, as well as Monteverdi & Palestrina do indeed come close)

I have listed to many works by him... mostly organ and choral works, including the Saint Matthew Passion & Saint John Passion.

Bach rules.

I concur.
