Bots on facebook?

I keep getting Friends Requests and their messages say "Please Add Me" and I just assume they are bots so I ignore them. I have noticed all of them say the same on Yahoo Messenger when they add me except they say something like "Please add me so we can talk."

Has anyone else kept getting these?

I don't understand. what do you mean about yahoo?

I add them, but if it sounds like a scammer or someone trying to advertise an adult chat site, I delete and block them.

I need a better reason than that to add anyone, is how I learned. Sometimes if I'm not lazy, I will PM them asking who they are and whatnot. Usually I have problems remembering people by their faces, so I will always express my memory problem and then things usually smooth out from there if they are someone I know. xD

You have never used Yahoo Messenger and then you see someone added you to their messenger and they leave a message saying "Please add me so we can talk?"

I used to add them but when I would start talking to them, they turn out to be IM bots so I take them off my list and block them. Now every time someone adds me leaving me that message, I assume they are bots and don't allow them to add me and I block them.

Yeah I do the same thing. If they never respond, I ignore them.

I don't trust adding those people so call me paranoid.

windows messenger was doing that too yesterday

I get them all the time on MSN but I just eventually end up having to block and report them, they ain't going no where in my contact list.

I just don't add people I don't know. It isn't like I am missing out on anything since I have no idea who they are. I hate that! Its like going up to a strangers house to bother them.

I know what to look for, now.

I usually look at their user profile or what they have posted on their wall before adding them.

As for Skype I only allow those in my contact list to get through.

I get a few of these every now and then. They usually have nothing on their walls and random friends, or some crap on their walls about winning a free iphone. Unlikely anyone real would actually add me on FB so I just ignore them.

I only add someone on facebook if I know who they are. If I am not sure if I know them or not, I send a message asking who they are. No answer within a day = denial.
