I have my Student Visa and my flight booked! Heading to Swansea!!

Excited is an understatement, but also a bit worried that I will spend so much time with my nose
in the books, that I will not meet anyone - come off like people here have described me,
and then not find flatmates for the next year. I am staying in the halls this year, but plan on
renting off campus next year.

So.. need to try and get out more often

Anyway.. just wondering who is from there?

I lived close to swansea in my teens and its very nice there. It has nice countryside close by, nice beaches and also good shops and good night life.

Its one of the more cosmopolitan towns in Wales and so has more diversity and is more accepting of difference.

I hope you enjoy your studies there :D

I lived in LLanelli and some villages called Trimsaren and kidwelly which are half way between LLanelli and Carmarthen. Swansea was the nearest city and I would go there most weekends. I had my daughter in the hospital in Carmarthen which was called 'Glangwili General' lol. You will soon get used to the bilingual everything and the pronounciations and slang, a lot of people in that area speak welsh and a lot of the slang is in welsh but you will get used to it pretty quickly and in Swansea itself its less than the villages.
