Unless the folks up at symbian are going to do something quick they will. Symbian, like windows mobile almost feels like it is a generation behind Iphone and Android.

The main advantage of android is its extreme openness. It allows an explosion of innovative apps we have barely seen the beginning of.
I am still using symbian right now, but my next phone will definitely be an android model.

Google still haven't made any money from it, though.

Symbian's marketshare is decreasing, primarily because their OS is s**t. The only reason it's still as high as it is now is because of all the free Nokias that phone shops and networks are throwing at people.

It's licensed under the EPL, which is GPL incompatible.
