We got Starlink installed!! ! Now have internet speeds unheard of here out in the woods!! ! Not set up in the office yet, but will soon. And we can get rid of that awful, terrible provider Centurylink, which previously was our only option.

Today I was given a watermelon and a cutting of a tropical fruit tree. Different givers. Accepted with thanks. I’ve learned from long experience that it denies the giver respect and self-worth to reject these gifts.

Both gifts make me happy. I love watermelon and tropical fruit trees. Not sure what it is yet as the family only knows the Guatemalan name.

Somebody was kind to me today. I am filled with gratitude.

My cousin and me went on a bike ride all around the neighborhood. I'm so exhausted.

I'm now "adopted" by the old neighbors that have known me since a little one as my mother apparently thinks COVID-19 is gonna take her out (it's not and she's fine). Makes me laugh with the latter. The former, I knew that one would have been there, even though I made sure to get across that I don't want help, nor to be a burden, rather what my mother asks, just someone to talk to and advice if I'm feeling too overwhelmed to think clearly. I'm only comfortable with them. I'm 40 mind you; goddamn disability.

I guess someone's kid is doing alright, or so I hear.

(Omicron has been absolutely nothing to me. The listed symptoms, just on and off throughout the day, which is a little different to other viral infections I've had. The lack of smell and red itchy eyes are always there, though. To be fair, I kinda get seasonal influenza a little bad, as in bedridden with a very high fever, so I might not be the best one to listen to when it comes to this.)

Happy to hear you are officially adopted now. Seriously, it is always good to have someone to talk to, regardless of age.

Not sure if it is exactly happy, but it is surprising every time I look into the mirror and see strawberry blonde instead of brown. Sunlight does that to my hair. I guess it's interesting to have a different look.

Thanks. Since knowing them from such a young age, it overcomes that issue I have when interacting with people in that real world, which helps when I'm overwhelmed. Familiarity.
