Birmingham, Al (WIAT) Just when you thought the story couldn't get any more weird comes this story courtesy of Radio Netherlands Worldwide.

Apparently there are plenty of people in The Netherlands who are tired of Joran van der Sloot drawing more worldwide attention than the Dutch soccer team in the World Cup.

According to the Dutch newspaper AD, thousands of people are going online to play judge, jury and executioner in online games run by roundgames.com.

The 'game' allows players to torture Van der Sloot with electric shocks until he confesses to the murder of Stephany Flores.

Roundgames director Tijmen Crone tells the paper "no, it is not too gruesome or offensive. Far worse things happen to other famous people in internet games. I thought it would be really fun to do something with all the publicity surrounding the case".

Bert de Rooij, one of van der Sloot's lawyers said "it's evidence of a very sick mind".

There's another ironic statement since van der Sloot is currently undergoing psychiatric evaluation in the Peruvian prison where he's being held for the murder of Flores, a 21 year old student.

Van der Sloot is accused of killing her five years to the day after Mountain Brook's Natalee Holloway disappeared on a graduation trip to Aruba. She was last seen in the company of Joran van der Sloot.

Like we say in Holland: Het is een storm in een glas water.

Meaning: Making a fuss about nothing important

For years it's a trend in the media in Holland to make problems out of nothing or making it bigger then it is. I guess they got nothing better to report besides this trivial stuff (talking from national to world scale up)...

And yes, we want attention for our soccer! :D

Cheerfully,
Wallourdes

" A tempest in a teapot" as we say in the English speaking world.
