Are there any songs that take you back to your childhood? If so, post them!

This song, "Sonny Came Home", reminds me of when I was in kindergarten during the late '90s. The song would play on my mom's radio as she drove me to school.

When I was a young child (up until age 10), I listened to the heck out of this song. My theme song.

Sigh, back when I was a happy, joyful, peace-loving child, nothing to be afraid of, hopeful and optimistic in every situation.

I'll probably find something that fits the other half of my childhood and edit this post with it. Probably a depressing angsty song of some sort.

I Put A Spell On You - Creedence Clearwater Revival.

My dad and I used to listen to this one all the time when I was little. It's still my favorite song.

"Absolutely (Story of a Girl)" - Nine Days
"Crazy For This Girl" - Evan & Jaron
"Kiss Me" - Sixpence None The Richer
All three of these songs remind me of summertime when I was a child. "Kiss Me" in particular reminds me of afternoons spent at the lake.

"Where Are You Going" - Dave Matthews Band
This song reminds me of the trip I took to Las Vegas when I was 12.

"Walking on Broken Glass" - Annie Lennox
This song reminds me of the time I went on a day trip to Sun Valley. I heard the song playing in one of the shops we visited.

I listened to this concerto every night before bed when I was 7 - 8. It was the Joshua Bell / Ashkenazy recording. I think it was the first tape I ever owned.

"Invisible Sun" by the Police. Kinda dark song to have as a childhood memory, considering it's about the unrest in Northern Ireland. But when I was younger, I didn't know that, of course. My parents used to own a vacation house on the island of Montserrat in the Caribbean, and we'd go down there on occasion. I remember the Police were played on the local radio station a lot in the late 80s/early 90s; there was a recording studio on the island (before it was destroyed by Hurricane Hugo), and the Police recorded material there. My parents used to tell me stories about seeing Sting on the beach! Unfortunately, my family had to sell the house after the Soufriere Hills volcano on the southern part of the island became active again, and I haven't been back since I was about 8 or 9. From the pictures I've seen, the place has really changed as the result of volcanic activity-- whole towns have been deserted and buried in ash, and what used to be lush forested areas now bear a closer resemblance to the surface of the moon.

I had a little obsession with Lady and the Tramp and it was my favourite song. I used to sing it a lot! :D

This song also reminds me of my childhood, though I can't put my finger on why exactly. Oh well, it's a good song either way. :)

"Can You Feel the Love Tonight" from The Lion King. I was obsessed with that movie when I was about 4-5 (it came out when I was 1).

Wow, the fashions. Why did they drown them in ridiculous overcoats, did it make the little girls swoon extra?

I dont know the name of it or who sung it....but you know, that "The Breakfast club" song
The last song of the soundtrack. It is soooo cool and I had an obession with the breakfast club. I even dressed like Molly Ringwald in that movie, did my hair like her and everything...exept my hair is brownish/black not red.

Holst's The Planets suite used to utterly enthrall me.
6:42 onwards is particularly evocative:

In addition, the music of The Beatles did always tend to fill the family home:
