I'm interested in the ways NT spouses, partners, BF/GFs and close family and friends help you when you're having trouble coping.
How do they help you avoid, stop and recover from meltdowns?
Can they lift you out of depression?
Do they do special things to care for you and show how much they love you?

My fiance has a soothing voice. When I'm on the egde of a meltdown he talks to me. He knows he can talk about anything because I'm not hearing his words but I'm hearing his voice and it brings me back to a safe place.

I don't have anyone to help me.

The only person in the world I talk to outside of work is my mother who lives over a thousand miles away.

Sorry, no luck. The most constructive thing I ever did was get very far away from my extended family and forget about them. No phone calls, no cards, nothing.

My Mum helps me a lot. Talks to me, takes me out for lunch etc.

We are both on the spectrum, b ut different places / patterns. I have always gone for quiet sloow soothing nonemotive talk - which helps her.

She goes for supportive comprehending nonpushing talk which helps me.

We each know when and how to leave the orher alone.

My Mum helps me a lot. She tells me what I should say in hard situation, explains what people mean and supports me in important moments. She's used to my odd behaviours. She wants me to do everything on my own, so she doesn't do things instead me, but she tells me how to.
