The post below details Phelp's use of crank to get through law school:

How many religiously inspired child abusers like this do you reckon are out there in North America?

People will doubtless agree with you if you post about the bad fundies being bad. Agreement is agreeable.

Every time I see WBC or FP, I get the urge to grab some popcorn.

The same as the obsession medical researchers have with viruses. Understanding blights on this world can help humanity counter them.

Quite frankly, this thread was posted because I'm concerned that too many people look at the Phelps Family as being pure evil without really understanding the dynamics and root causes of much of their problems.

Nathan Phelps has some insighful thoughts:

I think that any religious person by default is a child abuser.

To say that from an age where a child has no comprehension of lies and takes everything literally, to scare them with hell, heaven, sins, being nailed to the cross and the old testament god, is surely a forum of child abuse. This applies to all religions, you can see a bigger effect on religions such as Islam.

What can you say, the guy is pure scum, and uses his religion to abuse people which isn't exactly rare amongst people like this!

I don't understand why fundamentalist religion can't just be banned, outright. It's clearly barbaric and detrimental to any child that is subjected to it.

It seemed like you were starting a fight with me and I hadn't a clue why you would want to. I can't possibly read every person's post before I post my own so I didn't know if you had said something similar or not but even if you had, it should be okay for someone to reiterate or say the same or similar thing in a thread.

I guess, I just assumed because it was 2 posts above yours that you would've at least scanned through it to get the context of the thread. I dunno. It is okay, it just confused me.

Evidently we share the same or similar view there. :)
