Hi... My names Adam. I have never been on one of these websites before, so... Anyway, I love to play games, but unlike most of my friends, I hate war. I mostly like nintendo games, but when my brother asks I'll play halo to amuse him. I normally beat him, making him angry, though. Needless to say, I am a video game pro. However, my real passion is writing. I write a lot of books, and I love it. I have never had a book published, though.

Welcome to the forum, Adam. Keep on writing, only practice would make you a better writer. :)

There's no need to rush. Reading and learning will make you a better writer too. I don't remember where, but there are several places where writers can share their essays, stories, books online and interested people will read. Of course there are many sites where that's possible but some intended for it specifically. Be careful not to publish it online though if you hope to have it copyright'ed some day. However online publishing is great if you simply want to spread ideas freely.

I'll say this again: reading will make you a better writer! There's a lot of good stuff. Specify an interest and search for related books. You'll find them, and I guarantee you that there's interesting knowledge already printed, but under-appreciated. You may very well find completely new interests if you start learning about them.

PS

Many writings are published online, and available for free download.

You can try Google books, gutenberg.org, or mises.org if you're interested in Politics, Economics, History or the history of Economics and Politics, as well as a few other academic subjects. Anyway a google search of your interests will likely show something.

Welcome to WP, Adam.

Writing is a great way to say things that may not be able to be said in any other way and if you're serious about getting published someday, practice it! If you haven't already done so, NaNoWriMo starts in a couple of weeks... 50K words during the month of November. It might also be helpful to look for fellow writers who can help you critique your work and offer another POV...

Anyhow, welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay =)
