feelings of dread
this is the part of being aspie that I don't like. I have to go out tomorrow for a family thing. I have to be social with people who don't understand me and want to be close to me. I also have to go to the grocery store. I really dread these things. Sometimes I can get my husband to do them for me but he is away for the weekend so I'm on my own. I love the special interest part of aspie. I dread the social stuff, and the sensory issues of the grocery store. I can't wait till it's over.
Make a plan, with if-then statements about what might happen and how you could respond to it. Also make a plan for unexpected things; for example, "If something dangerous and unexpected happens, I'll call the police," or, "If I'm confused and can't figure out what to do, I'll call my [trusted person] for advice." It definitely helps you to get stuff done faster and with less hassle.
