Then you're doing a great dis-service to your country. Even if you write in "Mickey Mouse" or "General Creedon" you still performed your civic duty.

I just now voted for the very first time ever. I used an electronic ballot, and it was a little confusing at first, but I got the hang of it before long. I was a little nervous that I may have done something wrong, but at the end, it showed me a review of everybody I voted for and I found that I didn't make any mistakes.

I was surprised by how long the ballot was. I saw a whole bunch of people whom I had never heard of before, and I ended up having to skip a lot. Otherwise, I really enjoyed it. I felt so empowered afterwards. :)

In response to the wording of poll (sorry if I'm being anal and/or pedantic)....

Everyone in the U.S. has elections where they are today. Now it's possible that in some states, they have neither a U.S. senator nor governor's race (in fact, I know this is the case in Mississippi), but everyone has at least a U.S. House race.

And yes I voted :)

Congratulations on voting for the first time! I know the same feeling too, back in 2008 * first time as well * and I felt empowered as well. :D

It was worded that way because not everyone here is in the U.S. in fact there are people from all over the world posting here at WP! :wink:

If someone doesn't really know what's going on, I'd prefer that he/she/it not vote at all. Of course, he/she/it had better not complain about stuff later on.

Despite the negative campaigning that made it clear only fools and crooks were running, I voted. Someone has to encourage the Lesser Evils of the world to keep trying.
