I watched this a lot when I was a child. I've started watching it again, on CBeebies, since I now get up early enough. Does anyone else start their day with Pingu? It makes me laugh more than comedy aimed at adults does!
I've even considered getting DVDs

I love pingu!
one of my special interests has always been languages and as a kid I watched pingu memorizing what they said, realizing that they're actually speaking some kind of language!
one of my favourite episodes is the one when they sing "happy birthday to you" and they have a birthday party.
I still have nightmares because of the episode with the walrus and the walking bed though.
