I feel like I literally can't identify verbal abuse and disrespect from others. I get taken advantage of a lot and some of the guys that i've gone out with in the past... well, they didn't actually like me. I've let people do and say terrible things before I finally realized that they didn't respect me. Does anyone know where I can find a guide to disdainful/disrespectful behavior?

This link talks about respect http://www.emotionalcompetency.com/respect.htm and has an interesting paragraph on symmetry, which is where some people with autistic traits can trip up.

There is a lot in documents like school and workplace policies on equality / diversity / harassment that define extremes of disrespectful behaviour, for example there is a 12-page leaflet here http://www.acas.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=797

Religious organisations that try to foster an ethos of mutual respect also describe respectful and disrespectful behaviour.
