I loved them both. I'm interested to find out whether this is typical???

They're both great shows. I don't see why that wouldn't be typical.

Maybe even like Curb a little better. Kramer has aspergers.

And you do know that Larry David created both shows, right?

I have never seen Curb, but I love Seinfeld.

What I meant was, I'm interested to find out whether my enjoyment and appreciation of these shows is typical of others with AS. Both shows depend on a lot of sarcasm, double entendre, other word play, an understanding of exactly what is expected in social situations. I suspect that this type of humor might be underappreciated by many with AS -- leading those folks not to care as much for these shows.

As a general premise, sure, they're great shows and almost universally loved. But, my question was getting more at whether that's true and "typical" of people here.

I have seen pictures of Larry David. He looks like a composite of Gavin MacLeod, L. Ron Hubbard, and Bernie Madoff.

I haven't seen a lot of Curb Your Enthusiasm, but I imagine it's similar to Seinfeld b/c they are both Larry David creations. My thinking is that these shows are great for people on the spectrum because they analyze (over-analyze) the minutiae of life--which is what I think a lot of people (Aspies) do to try and understand the confusing swirling mass of social rules and mores. It breaks down all those social situations into their small components and then pokes fun at the seemingly illogical rules about call-waiting face-offs, when it's appropriate to take a new friend to the airport or how to deal with people who don't fit the accepted social norms by talking low or close...

I love Seinfeld and find myself still using a lot of terms and lingo from the show in everyday conversation. And, of course, I celebrate Festivus...

Even after all these years, Seinfeld still makes me laugh. I even converted my wife into a Seinfeld fan, even though she had originally thought she'd hate the show. :D

i agreed with seinfeld's self-assessment of his own program, when he said it was a show "about nothing." it might as well have been about martians going about their daily martian business, for all the sense the program made to me. but julia louis dreyfus is a talented, gorgeous and intelligent babe.

I love Seinfeld :D. ...Curb Your Enthusiasm too. I was totally loving the reunion episodes.

I think the show is pretty relateble in the sense that the characters' personalities conflict so much with societal norms.
