This thread is geared mainly toward those who are single.

Picture yourself in a relationship. What type of person would you be if you were with someone? What type of positive personality traits do you think would make you endearing to a potential romantic partner?

Don't mention things like your income, present or potential, physical appearance, level of education. List only your *positive* personality traits.

I'll start, beginning with my traits:

1. Very laid-back, and flexible.

2. A good emotional provider.

3. Very accommodating.

4. Affectionate, and love showing it.

5. Understanding and honest.

6. Willing to make sacrifices for a partner.

Most people do, I know a girl who changed from extremist muslim to a full-edged agnostic in a very short time (1 week) just to be with a Christian-born agnostic fella.

I wasn't talking about changing, I was referring to the personality traits you possess while in a relationship.

Well I just did a Facebook quiz which said of me: “you are a sweetie (but don't worry you are also manly). your partner adores you (and if she dosen't, you deserve someone who does). you know how to treat a lover right, and you are wonderful to be around. you are thoughtful, caring and dependable. thank you for being awesome”

I'll take that result thanks :P

Those Facebook and OKCupid quizzes are good at measuring your success in a potential relationship.

But that implies that my personality (traits) would be different if I were in a relationship as opposed to when I'm single - as I now am. My personality is the same whether I'm in a relationship or not.

I'm obviously missing something here. :?

He means what positive traits will you bring to a relationship?

Basically... what positive traits do you have? Which applies to a relationship? If you *DO* change, what would (positively)?

Like... being affectionate is a personality trait, but you won't really see that too much outside of a relationship, stuff like that~

Ah, right.

Hmmm ... well, I've been married twice and am in the middle of my second divorce, so ... I suppose, assuming that I made a wiser choice in terms of a potential partner, .... I don't know.

I'm happy on my own, so if I did meet someone he would basically have to accept me as I am. Laid back, disorganised, procrastinating, pedantic (although I have been working on that), strange sense of humour, forgetful, think a lot, talk a lot ...

I don't know...
I don't see any reason why anyone should be my partner.
