Well, lets see: maybe hacking where angels fear to tread?

- I thought up an idea on how to see a telephone ring. I designed a circuit that would actuate a strobe light, so proprietor of body shop could see the phone ring amidst all the noise.
An obstacle was to figure out how to block the constant 50 volt D.C. from triggering the strobe, while allowing the intermittent 100 volt a/c ( the ring voltage) to pass thru the circuit , and hence light the phone only on the ring voltage input.

- I had an 1987 Bronco that needed a new engine; took out the old gas guzzler - 5.8Liter out , and I rebuilt a 10.5 compression 5.0L engine , with Edelbrock heads , added a hydraulic roller camshaft : with roller rockers, headers , an Accel DFI fully programmable fuel injection system.
Truck had a lot of power( 385 hp) and did better in gas mileage. It had a locking differential in the front ,with an Auburn posi unit in the rear. I once pulled a 17,000 pound truck that was stuck off the shoulder of the road.

- Installed and set up ring and pinion gear set and a torque sensing differential in my latest pick up truck , as it was 'open', to a limited slip carrier.

I don't have the direct experience or formal training' here. But I hack and learn it and do it.
I venture into a lot of unknown territory , against well intentioned advice.

it wasn't so much my greatest accomplishment rather, the moment I felt most self-pride.

It was back in 1988. I was 15 years old. I was in foster care and was involved in a teen outreach program which took us on adventures and trips once a week or so. This particular trip was canoeing down a river. There were maybe 6 or so canoes altogether.

On the last leg of our journey, someone had the idea of having a race to a spot ahead. I started paddling with all I had and then some. My canoeing partner, I don't remember his name but he was a partially deaf man possibly a round 40. Anyway, he asked the others about me, "did you see him?".I knew he was talking about me for some reason. We did wind upcoming in second.

I think what he meant was, I was really digging in, really giving it my all and possibly at that time, some definition was showing in my arms and shoulders accentuated by the straining of the body paddling so hard. I've always believed he saw this and was pointing it out to the others.

Once you've done your greatest, what's left after? I hope to go on having my greatest achievements until I die, if I ever do.

Here is achievements of mine thoughout my life so far.
Story of one Special Developmental School Child to become a NMIT Diploma and Advanced Diploma Information

Technology Website Development and Network Security Graduand.

1982 - 1989 - Slow Development Years.

This is the very start of my life, I was born a premature baby, at the Queen Vic Med Center on 11-11-1982, to a Seventh-day Adventist parents, they did not know at that time for which what was the future was going to hold, over the next 28 years.

They were set for a lot of surpises and accomplishments for which I would make, for which would amaze the health carers of the time.

It was decided for me by my parents and Dr. Glawn for which I attend special developmental school in 1984, so at two years of age, I to attend there until 1988.

So I spent most of the 1980s, attending specialist developmental school, at this time my speech and basic living skills was lacked these were addressed at this time. but things
are not taking off yet, there was problems so a speak with the toilet training aspect, from communcation book records dated in 1986, there wasnt any learning how to use the toilet properly, another meeting I can recall in 1989.

There was a parent teacher interview, the teacher asked my parents can I use the toilet properly, In 1987, I was at the pre-school my first time being outside the speacialist education scene, it was at this time for which social impairments were apparent, the indicent was simple as another child, pushing me, however
this finished and I went to attend the special school.

where I attended for the next 12 years, the first two years there, I was taught straight away how to read and write, letters and numbers, and they did not give up on me, it took me a long time to learn how too, but this was my first major achievement.

In 1989, during my time at special school, for which I was introduced to computers, little that the teachers know, and the teacher for which introduced me to computers is still at the specialist school to this day, this was the first indication and taste of my future.

1990s - School Years and Puberty.

In 1990 after two years at specialist school, it was decided for which I attended the mainstream education system part time, another acheivement, and this was a time for social growth, having going to two schools, there was two sets of social groups for me, I were two attend this system, for the next 9 years.

During these years 1991-1995 were series of school camps, in the schools attempt to create social gathering in my views this failed, the 1995 camp were the best out of the lot, it was a bike camp, lots of fun and very social there was another school group there too.

In 1992, my father purchased a home computer and basic dotmatrix printer, this was first indications and paved the way to my Diplomas in 2009 and 2010, this was very start of the computer boom of the 1990s with my family,

my computer skills started to develop at a rapid rate, and this was shown for which this was the career of my choice, as far back as 1993.

As long I kept focused on this, my skills developed, however this was a annoyance for my parents as they wanted me to focus on other things too, it was a battle, but I stuck by this and it paid off, I was the typical nerd, and even looked like one for the most of the 90s.

Socializing at school mainly at the mainsteam school was at its top, everyone liked me at school, which was unheard off for a Aspie, I was one of the most popular guys of the school, I wasnt hardly teased at this school, and the most of the teasing was done at the special school, in 1994, I started this teasing torment with a female student off and on for which I shouldnt have, this lasted till the end of being at specialist school, by just calling her names I thought it was funny at the time.

Who doesnt call each other names at school, in 1995/96 puberty and teenage years started to take off, and not going into details on that either, but I experienced the jornery from being a child to a teenager and new feelings I have to experience around girls, I grew taller too my full height in 1999, for which I'm 173cms tall.

In 1997, I was baptized into the Preston Seventh-day Adventist church, as a church member, for which was a

great milestone in my christian walk.

Interschool sport at the speicalist school, for which I was a top basketballer, and this taught a lot of social skills, I noticed that I was being more social at the mainstream school opposed to the specialist one, when the mainstream school education ended in 1999, my social circle smashed into pieces and this was hard to take, this was rebuilt in 2004, with leaving specialist education in 2003.

Towards the end of the 1990s, I was really skillful with computer repair and software, or which I thought I was, I was helping friends and church members with their computers, a acheivement within itself.

During high school, I was a typical schoolboy, chasing girls around the playground, and girls flirting with me and asking me flirty questions, even more of this happend at NMIT for which got even hotter.

2000s - The NMIT Years.

In 2000, I was finishing up speicalist education for which I finished the mainstream education a year earlier,

this decade the 2000s was a 10 year transition period, I did a lot of vocational education during the last two years of specialist school, after leaving mainsteam education in 1999, social circle that was formed was smashed, and I had to make do with the peers at the special school, which was quite hard for me to do.

In that aspect, year 2000 was a hard year, that I had to complete, however in 1999 was the year that the computer at home became advanced enough to go on the internet, and the world opened up to me, with the advent of email and messenger software. Some form of soical circles were formed again.

Meet a heap of new friends from around the world, and software helped me to talk with school friends, outside of school hours, this helped me cope with year 2000, and made things easier, however I saw some friends from school as they walked past my house thoughout that year.

In 2001, I started my time at NMIT Preston for which I attended till 2009, starting initally in Work Education, attended this course for the next 3 years, it was a continuation of the 2000 year, bad social contacts, withdrawal and sitting in the corner of the canteen area of NMIT for which is now the conference center, 20001 and 2003, were the growing up mentally years, during this time I did work experiences in diffrent types of work, two work experiences with computer work, which I enjoyed the most.

Social circles at this time at NMIT were developing at NMIT work education, I was friends with a number of students, and this group were isolated within the rest of the campus of Preston, however the good times at NMIT were yet to come, most of the students at work education were perhaps Aspies in their own little worlds, for which made social contact with them near impossible, by this time the computer skills were at advanced level.

It was also the time, I started to repair and learn about laser printers, intally this became a Aspie obsession, due to being a coping mechanism with being in work education, in 2003 I was finishing up Work Education and it was then decided for me to enroll with Cert II in IT in 2004, a NMIT department for which I were to be with for the next 6 years, as soon I got into this course in 2004, I mixed with other students with other facuties.

And the social world at NMIT just opened its doors, now being viewed as a mainsteram student at the college, and not viewed as a specialist student was a confidece boost, and social confidence was at same level as being in high school, and repairing the damage that the special school made, the social voild was filled, thoughout 2004 - 2008 were my heyday years at NMIT, popularty grew, and I was simply one of the guys at NMIT.

I no longer was at the sitting at the corner, I was at the middle of the scene, it reached the same level at the high school, flirty questions from the girls, this was during my Certifcate IV to first Diploma years, the Info Tech study first run 2004-08, it was a great time to live in and I would live back in that time in a heartbeat, lots of social interaction and things were great.

I finished Certifcate IV in IT Web Des and Admin, and enrolled into Diploma in Web Dev in last part of 2006, things looked bright till of the housing problems of 2007, I was forced to postpone my time at NMIT, due to looking for housing, I did enroll in early of 2007, but ended up failing in the two subjects for which I enrolled in, however once this was over in mid 2007.

With the purchase of the new house, in June 2007, I enrolled into the Diploma again, for the rest of 2007, and this was a one run, this was it, one time only no reapeting, however this gave me extra displine, and towards the end of this course, I passed the lot in those two semesters, in June 2008, then I took rest of the year off, as a mental break, and looking for jobs as well, which wasnt successfull.

In 2009, my final year at Preston campus, social circles at NMIT were rebuilt and again, became the popular student for the first half of the year, it was during this time that friends of 2006 were starting to leave and being with a new group, the heyday of me being of NMIT was wearing thin, towards the end of 2009 after 8 years of being at Preston, it just fell apart and the students in my class wasnt very friendly, however outside during lunch time was fun time, so I still had my fun at NMIT right towards the end, but in 2010 things more
more serious and the fun at NMIT finished up, even though I did had some fun during class time in e-business.

But thoughout diffrent chapters of my time at NMIT, it continced to be fun, on April fools day 2010, we had a party in the level of the building that I was in, I took the opp to buy some, party bangers and some spray slime, these things didnt last long everyone was spraying the stuff over each other, and I felt like I was at Preston again, this class was great as well everyone liked me as well as opposed to the class of the previous year, but 2009 was a overall a great year, plenty of mates to hang with.

Also in 2009, I had my first graudation, all gowned up, and everything, it was a super night to be have a reunion with all my NMIT mates, and finally walked up to obtain my first Diploma, it was a experience I wouldnt forget.

2010 - Finishing Up NMIT and 2011 and Beyond.

This is the final chapter of NMIT, this was the network security course, Advanced Diploma, I did this from Feb 2010 to Dec 2010, this year as a super year, social side was super as well, I mixed in well with the NMIT collingwood scene, well liked popular etc etc, I had a great time, April Fools day, everyone played jokes with me, it was one building complex and I talked to everyone I saw in the lifts to the floor that I am in.

I passed all the exams for this course and I passed the hardest aspect of the course for which it was the Cisco subject, I at first thought I was going to fail, but the time of the tests come the theory and prac test, and I am very happy to report that these are both passed, and this past week I obtained my results in the mail and everything had a great mark the average is about 75%

When I had my ebusiness earlier the year, it was a young chick teacher, she wasnt even acting as a teacher she was more like a friend to us in the class, this was her teaching style, however she was bit of a flirt with me, and it was like I was at Preston again, serectly, I developed a gentle little crush on her, but I didnt tell her because of the rules of the college, I had a crush on a girl from the IT department named Ashley, she was a student, I had my crushes and flings with girls and flirty encounters at TAFE.

It was a really fun time.

In November 3rd 2010, I was elected as a member of the Australian Computer Soceity, for the next 12 months, so there you have it the story of a child of specialist developmental student, to a two Diploma graduand and member of a professional computer society member, what a huge turn around.

What is going to be written in the 2010s: Plan is to get a job, and build on what NMIT courses left off, and become a competent computer and laser printer service technician.

Thanks for reading.

Yes you've nailed it their Moog.

Looking back I'm quite convinced my one and only true friend I had in high school was AS and he took his own life age 20. :(

I'm quite convinced his co morbid condition where ADHD and depression.

I think the OP's of the 100,000,000 + 1 "NT are idiots" may be on to something :

He was the most creative boy genius in the arts manual (as in wood work ) through to painting , a savant even , yet he majorly dived in those subjects. He was labeled "stupid" " lazy" hell he was even "disciplined" by the school / parents as was I , up to 6 lashings of the cane, 3 on each hand , yes it was perfectly acceptable to cane adolescent boys (though not grils) in Queensland schools up to the late 1990's.

Anyway I wish I'd spoken up , though that would be futile they would have taken no notice or intrest in what I had to say (a bit like me here ), I was even more on the fringes of society than he was!

How can they get it so wrong ?

Maintaining a friendship that has lasted longer than any friendship I've ever had, 9+ years and still going (so far). However, I believe she deserves most of the credit for putting up with me that long.

Another noteworthy accomplishment was eating 3 large pizzas in one sitting.

Oh, yeah...college degrees. Meh.
