I think it is safe to say that the Republicans may have the House of Representatives till at least 2014 (may even make gains in 2012).

Here's to the new two-party system: The Republican party and the Tea party!

Pelosi won in '06 and '08 so she has won for them.

Moreover, had they chosen Heath Shuler they might as well have packed up their tents and folded the party!

The Republicans yesterday announced that they favour unemployment. This shows that their arrogance is going too far and they'll overextend themselves.

There's something else people should know. The Congressional Republicans had a higher disapproval rating than the Congressional Democrats and I can only assume still do.

Bad move for the Democrats. They didn't have to pick a blue dog or DLCist to lead them, they just needed a new face that wasn't so divisive.

Ask Blanche Lincoln how much being associated with Pelosi and Obamacare did for her.

The worm has turned. Keeping Pelosi as a figurehead is shooting themselves in the foot.

One of those who watered down the health care so that no one would be pleased? One of those who sabotaged her own side? Serves her right. People vote for results and when the results are insufficient because people on your own team stab you in the back then those members of the team deserve to lose.

They won due to their rhetoric, however their behavior following the 08 election (which she has become a symbol of) is why they lost in 2010. It isn't a good idea for her to be there as a reminder to the public about how the Democrats treated the public.

The dems who tried to be faux Republicans got their a**es kicked in the election. And besides that, people might as well go down for what the really believe in.

Pelosi should have opened her speakership by announcing impeachment proceedings against Bush and should have investigated his administration in every way possible and with total relentlessness. Instead, she played nice. Still, better her than a phony like Shuler, a failed Washington Redskin and New Orleans Saint quarterback.

If she had, it would have blown up in her face, especially when it came out that she was receiving the exact same intelligence briefings as President Bush was.

Abu Ghraib and warrant-less wiretaps are other issues that could have been used to waste Bush and punish crime. Bush by the way committed a death penalty offence when he had people tortured to death. The 1996 War Crimes Act makes him eligible for death.

Nice try, but he didn't authorize the tortures at Abu Ghraib. And the warrant-less wiretapped phones were in places like Afghanistan, you saying the CIA should stop recording and hang up when Osama bin Laden is calling someone in the US?
