So its not an intellect disorder, but why do we have to have a social disorder and exectutive function? Those are VITAL,

It SUXXXX, I want to make my parents proud, I dont want this Autism, I want to be Rich, I dont want this Autism, I want many friends, I dont want this AUtism, I want to be free, I want people to look up to me, i dont want this Autism.

Is there any way out other then accepting it?

If your aim is to please your parents, you are wrong.

Because we live in society, but do not consider it a "disorder" as a disorder is not the lack of marshmallows or a sitema echolocation (if you integrate yourself into a herd of dolphins)

You can learn coping methods for executive dysfunction.
You can learn social skills. You may not always be successful.

Honestly, what does complaining do? It just makes your problems worse. Sure we all need a time to vent but you do it quite a lot.
Just play the hand your dealt with (if I'm to continue your God-playing-with-us-analogy).

Um... excuse my real issue with words here... but what has a dolphin got to do with anything?

Makes you potentially strong in you're rationale, so it's a plus :D

Lot's of theories, I guess it's genetic differentiation by means of strict specialisations in bloodlines and partner choice based upon certain qualities needed to do certain tasks. Project that over the ages and get a picture of it, after the second World War things changed drasticly in that process - free love, unrestricted partner choice.

Your parents are proud only if you're succesfull? Cold baby, ICE cold.

There are people with autism who are rich, I don't see a connection here.

Morph500 wrote:

And you could have that, but the older you get the worse it gets to hide you're autism - so find friends who'll accept you as you are.

Freedom restriction and autism aren't linked, you're enviroment restricts you if you let it.

Respected or Feared, you could have both being autism or not.

Lot's but not viable ones - jumping infront of a speeding train is one of those.

I don't know how old you are but it gets better in time and experiences. If you want all these things you need to work for it like anyone else. Non-autistics have their own lesser strenghts on the rationale like you have on the social parts.

There are few recent threads about God and Autism. I'm not religious but I've talked to some Jehovahs' Witnesses on the subject of the reason there are imbalances between people and they told me it's because Adam and Eve were stripped of those after they were banished from the Garden of Eden.
In short, NOBODY is perfect by default - we all have somethings we can do great compared to others and somethings we can do on a lesser level compared to others. EVERYTHING is relative.

I hope it helps, keep you're chin up - Autie Power!

Cheerfully,
Wallourdes

Beautiful post but you're f****d if you think there are ways around something that is you/a part of you.

A little cheese with that whine?

If your parents aren't proud of you they are jerks. Good parents are proud of their children when their children do well with what has been handed them. Maybe you need to add different parents to your list.

Being rich is a false dream. Set your goals to something tangible and if you do it with all your heart, you may just end up rich. But obsess on your financial standing and you will be miserable. FWIW, obsessing on your financial standing is a human thing, not an autistic thing.

Many friends? One good friend is worth a hundred fair weather friends.

People looking up to you has nothing to do with Autism. People respect Temple Grandin. Why? Because she worked her ass off, taking her gifts and making the most of them, while not letting her deficits define her self image. Here's a clue, nobody respects people that feel sorry for themselves.

And you DO sound like Corp900. Using alternate identities in a forum is another way to lose respect. So make sure you don't do that.

I feel that God is working with me, not against me. I've chose to be happy over the past year and a quarter. :)

I made my parents proud
I am rich
I have many friend
I am free
People look up to me

I have autism....

Having autism makes some things a little tougher, but it does NOT stop you from being all the things you want to be. YOU stop you from being all those things.

Maybe there's survival advantages to have some members of a species being more independent thinkers and not being bounded by silly social norms?

Yup, the exact same speech pattern. And I'm a pattern person--I KNOW speech patterns.

Now, it could be a coincidence... but I would warn the mods to check the IP.
