Not sure how I feel about this. I wish we could slink back into anonymity. I found out through lame book, where they of course, called it "Assburgers"

For those of you who don't know, Arthur is a character from the Arthur book series by Marc Brown.

I watched the show and read the books when I was little.

I guess it was in april, surprised I didn't hear about it. has anyone seen it? what did you think about it?

Here is a link to the video: http://pbskids.org/go/video/index.html? ... 3cbpNB_1D5 It is 13 minutes.

Carl is an anthropomorphic Bunny who is obsessed with trains. :)

Update: this episode is really good and really realistic! I've reacted the way Carl does to the giraffe before. I used to be much worse, but usually I can rein it in a bit. Also, Brain's Uncle has Asperger's! the description brain gives, and the imagery is wonderful, and i thought spot on! Yay!

Why was Carl scared of the giraffe anyway?

I think it was how he looked, and how the teeth went up and down. some very slight movements might seem like nothing to some but can be pretty upsetting to the senses.

Oh yeah, like when people shudder at nails on a chalkboard or cracking knuckles.

I think it was a really cute episode, I was like "aaaaw :3" all the way through it. The travelling to another planet scene was really good I thought.

I watched the clip and myself thought it applied to me. Let's teach little kids tolerance, and hopefully they'll avoid the pitfalls our elders have made.

I also didn't understand how reacting to the giraffe was a unexpected situation. I always thought unexpected situations was things like I have been in where I don't know what to expect so I get all anxious and bitchy and have anxiety. But I don't go acting like the way Carl did.

Yes it is !

When Carl meets George.

First part
Second part

It's nice to see that they try to promote neurodiversity and friendship in cartoons. It reminds me of my childhood somehow (I did not react like Carl when something was wrong but still), four years ago someone told me "remember how strange you were in primary school ?" (and I was like "no" because I did not feel strange in primary school) and add "you would talk about the weather all the time, saying uninteresting things about clouds."

Oh yes, that !

It is great that they shew as well that Autistic people can succeed and have friends if people tries to understand them better (though, luckily, not everyone can befriend everyone else or it would be awful), I think it is not only showing that people should not reject autisitic people but that they should not reject people who are different at all.

As for the giraffe, I think many people are afraid of dummies so Carl may be too, I did not understand why they said it was a unexpected situation though.

I liked it. But the link didn't work for me, so I had to search through and find it.

Maybe the they had it wrong about the "unexpected situation" because they didn't understand what it meant. The people that made Arthur of course or whoever wrote the script.
