I basicaly had no real friends as a kid. I didn't know how to make them and didn't really want them anyway. My stuffed animals filled my void for friendship. My parents thought that was a red flag and would always bring it up with every shrink. I think they thought I actually thought the were alive. I think it's because since they were not alive, I could dominate the activity and with other children and living animals I could not. I was notoriously bossy and if I could not lead (or shoulod I say dominate) the activity I did not have fun and would refuse to play. Supposedly I was living in a fantasy world becuase my toys were my friends. I was also more attached to inamiante objects that I was actual people.

I'm not weird, you're just too normal.
