The weirder it gets, the more sense it makes,
the more sense it makes, the weirder it gets.

as this spinning top of a universe winds down, armchair philosophers have a divergence of opinion regarding the direction things in general are taking. with this in mind, which of these statements makes more sense? -

*progressing entropy=increasing weirdness
or-
*progressing entropy=decreasing weirdness

just curious.

As entropy increases, information decreases. Information = weirdness. Since entropy is increasing, things are getting less weird in the universe. But the earth, due to absorbing energy from the sun, is actually becoming more organized and has less entropy. Thus the overall decrease in weirdness of the universe necessitates an increase of weirdness on earth.

That makes sense, right?

it will make better sense to me after i find my stash of smart pills and take one.
as it is, your reply brings to mind many more meandering questions, for example-

Q- how do localized entropy and universal entropy differ?
Q- is localized entropy a microcosm of universal entropy?
Q- does progressing entropy=increasing chaos, or increasing order?
Q- is there any kind of information in chaos?
Q- is chaos just a different kind of order?

there are many more, but i am tired and more scatterbrained than i was a few hours earlier. maybe i need a few huffs of nitrous. :D

Damn, I might be normal by the time I hit 90 or so.

One person's entrophy is another's uniformity. Concentration in an ADHD universe.
