Does anyone here own a snake as a pet?

I have long been considering getting one. I am taking much time to learn properly about care and maintenance and what kind will be best for me (and for the snake of course). Corn snakes are among the most popular and easy-to-keep snakes. They average around five feet in length, like this one here...

My favourite snake of all could not be kept (for many reasons) as a pet. It is a Darwin Albino Carpet Python. They can grow to over 12 feet in length. The one in this picture is called Candy, I think she is real sweet...

I have a ball python, love him to death.

His name is Aloof. :3

Very interesting creatures, and very fun to observe how they react. It's even more amusing to take them out to the park on a nice day to see people freak out.

"ZOMG THAT'S A SNAKE!"

Snakes are amazing creatures, and they control pest populations. I like Ball Pythons the best. :O)

Wow, what a pretty corn snake! I have considered snakes as pets in the past, but I wouldn't want to have to feed them mice and rabbits and such.

Corn snakes are awesome pets. Great first snakes too. Ball pythons are as well! I would say Corn snakes are better than ball pythons only due to the fact that ball pythons may go on fasts for no apparent reason at random times for many months. For a beginner that may be scary. Corn snakes on the other hand will eat until they are extremely full almost at any time.

I don't mind snakes. I don't think I'd want one as a pet, though.

That's exactly what I thought too, Kaybee.
