I was browsing through the Happy thread, and noticed that everyone who posted about being happy in a current relationship is female. Is it easier for aspie women to get in a relation than it is for aspie men? Perhaps it is because men are generally expected to make the "first move"? Your thoughts?

indeed, allow me to destroy it

well you see-no not at all, aspie women have their own sets of problems, just the ones here seem to understand that going out and socializing is more successful then sitting infront of a computer and ask why can't I get a girlfriend, over and over

hope that clears things up

it means you can't generalize a whole gender based on what you read here.

I'm an Aspie female and I haven't found it to be particularly easy. If anything, it might be worse, since other women just want to talk about their husbands and kids. It seems like it's more socially acceptable for men to be single. If a woman is single, there must be something wrong with her and she should be shunned--not fit for polite society. Old maid, spinster, etc. It's pretty difficult.

Emlion since you already have a boyfriend I think the OPs question is valid.

I think in general women do have it a bit easier than men on the spectrum in terms of dating, and the reason for this is i have noticed that women on the spectrum do not exhibit the same stereotypical symptoms of low social skills that men have; however many women on the spectrum exhibit very strong emotional problems that men on the spectrum do not have. So that is that trade off. To answer your question, as far as dating is concerned I think females on the spectrum do have it a bit easier.

wow one girl. that MUST mean all women have it easier.
yeah it's taken me a LONG time and A LOT of effort to find this.
maybe i actually went out there and got it instead of whining on a forum about how I can't do it!
too many people are afraid of rejection. you have to be rejected a lot to get on in life.

i don't mean to sound so attacking. but there are SO many of these threads and it's always men complaining they have it more difficult.
it's tiresome.

Well no, not just one girl, I have noticed this with many women on the spectrum. But you are right there are a lot of whining threads.

you know something emlion, there was a group of people who thought like you, they were called nazi's!!
Close minded, hatefilled people who only wanted everything their way!!

Now, OP, let me tell you about a different group of people, who didn't give up!-they were called Nazi's!
Sure they had a crazy plan too, everybody thought they were nuts...But you know what, they got pretty far didn't they!? Cause they were dedicated, and strong!
A lot of people said they were crazy, but everyone says that we're crazy!!
So what are you people, a nazi?
OR NAZI'S?!?! !?!

(this was taken from a movie called Kickassia, just so...you don't go thinking I am completely off the rails)...still fits

not their fault if you don't succeed or don't try

there are also many men in relationships here.
maybe you choose to not mention them because they undermine your view it's more difficult for men.
it's easier to blame society than see own faults.
i've only recently starting taking responsibility for my own mistakes and faults.

Like someone allready wrote, you can't make generalizations based on gender. I know two adult aspie men who are in relationships while i'm an aspie female and i've never had a relationship and probably never will.
