I always twisted my hair when I would get sleepy or nervous when I was younger
I dont know when it started but some point in highschool I started slapping on my chest like a drum
but I started playing drums towards the end of high school
and now I do it more rythmically and I tap on everything
One of my biggest problems in finding out if I was an Aspie was
the finger flapping they always have in the diagnostics
I dont know if I am a drummer or thats my finger flapping being put to good use
But its almost involuntary so I think it is flappage

It doesn't have to be finger flapping to be a stim. Finger flapping is just one of an almost infinite number of possible stims.

My nonautistic brother did this and he's a drummer. But he also did a lot of stubborn things, even the nonautistic people in my family have traits. So I don't know if it's an autistic thing or a drummer thing or an autistic brother thing. But that hardly matters anyway.
