Why don't a lot of ugly/average women grasp that you need.

I work in a hospital full of doctors and nurses. One common trend I notice among the ugly/average nurses that they don't seem to grasp is that you NEED to be good looking in order to marry an ugly/average doctor. Yes, there are exceptions. However, chances are, if someone works their ass off to make a good income, they are going to expect something nice to look at after-wards.

Why don't most women grasp this?

I thought women wanted independence and equality! Women have more jobs today, they make their own money, they can spend their own.

Lots do but the thing is that socially it is expected that men pay more maybe because women tend to make 25cents less on every dollar that a man makes. I've known lots of women who say that it gets very awkward when women pay for the men. Some men feel emasculated or the women don't like the odd looks & the comments other women make. Some women like doing thigns like traveling & they don't want or cant afford to pay for the man's way so if the man makes less the women cant travel the way they want

Any such bias in the medical field is probably more likely due to that fact that the title of doctor has prestige attached to it, and in my experience, that's 50% of why some people go to medical school. Most doctors I know on a non-doctor/patient basis are somewhat arrogant, including the ones in my family.

In contrast, most people in my field are rather humble.
