For as long as I can remember I have done this thing with my fingers that I can only describe as playing notes (like on a piano) with my fingers. I almost permanently have a song in my head (or sometimes just notes or even a word going over and over) and my fingers play along with the notes. I do this constantly, while talking, doing complicated things, watching tv, its always going and keeping track of the song. Does anyone else do this? Is it finger flapping? My fingers do move when I’m doing it, but mostly I just feel the pressure of the notes in my fingers.

I do something like this. I don't know what it's called. It's one of the many ways I tap out rhythms/music.

oh i do that too! sometimes on the tip of other fingers like this guy, or on my knee or table , but i learnt to make it almost unnoticable in public, as in i just apply the tiniest pressure to the finger, it's enough to have "played the note" for me :P

I do the thing in that video, if that's what you mean. I've never thought about it much, but I think I do it more the more anxious I get.
