According to a newsinferno article, Up until now, studies examining the association between Clomid and birth defects have been inconclusive, but new research just published online in the journal Human Reproduction has found a significant association with nine types of birth defects following use of Clomid, including Autism.

Clomid is a fertility drug:

Interesting they have found it to cause so many birth defects.

The question is however does clomid cause birth defects or does women who can't have babies without it cause defects? I am not going to say I'm well educated on the subject but you'd just think that if a woman can't carry a baby to term without the use of a pill she's not going to create the most healthy offspring with it.

Then again, I am far from defective and like I said my mom couldn't have had me without the drug.

Just what I thought.
However my wife used Clomid, and we have our Autistic son from that pregnancy. Interesting.

I never used clomid and my son is autistic but I did use progesterone which is frequently used with clomid. I wonder about that.....

As for my history on the matter I can't blame clomid. My dad acts very much like he's on the spectrum, his brother even more so than him, my mom suspects my great grandmother was too (she was obsessed MAJORLY with wildlife and Annie Oakley), and other members of her side of the family show signs of it.

Going off of family history I'm more surprised of my intelligence than my AS.
