I gotta tell you I lived in San Francisco in the hippie days. (Seriously)
Way cool and all that.

Yet I have read all the books by Ray Bradbury and I long to live in "Greentown Illinois" back in the magical summer of 1928.

It sounds so "Norman Rockwell" if you know what I mean. :D

I can conclude from the poll that the 2000s was not a good decade for many.

There are many romantic times in the past.

I would love to live in England a couple of hundred years ago but only if I was a rich gentleman and not a servant.

But even if I was, remember that there were no dentists, no antibiotics, no dry-cleaning, no hot baths and no indoor toilets.

The stench of the people would have knocked you over because there were no sewers either and a million horses pooping in the street.

I apologise for not including the 18th century, however due to the nature of the poll, this would mean excessive work for myself.

I want to be in my teens in the 1990's, I like the music and fashions of that time. But I only properly remember 1997 onwards and that's just not fair.

visiting anytime before the 20th century, is likely to be a smelly experience. in general, people didn't bathe much [if at all] back then.

For me it was the 1920s because I like art deco and that period of post WWI modernism.

I would've liked the 50s if I got to be a beatnik, and only if I was beatnik.

I picked the 1970s, because I was totally born in the wrong era. I am currently 19 years old, but I am interested in celebrities from around that time.

This is a hard question because I don't look at the past decades as being all sunshine and smiley faces. :) I can think about which decades I would definitely NOT want to live in, like the early 19th-20th century when women weren't allowed to do practically anything and had to wear those awful, ugly dresses with big hoop skirts that made it hard for them to sit down or reach doorknobs (which is why men holding open doors and chairs for women became common) And oh, the lack of indoor plumbing! 8O Like most people in my age group I do remember the 70's and 80's with quite a bit of fondness, from mostly a kid's point of view, but I remember also being scared of nuclear war and AIDS. If there's anything I do miss about the 90's it's Troll Dolls. I was really obsessed with collecting them, I used to own hundreds. And in spite of EVERYTHING about this decade I am actually enjoying a lot of today's technology.

The 2010's. I'd like to live in the present.
