I'm 24 and strangers have thought I am 16. I've always looked younger than I was my whole life. My father may have had Asperger's and he looked younger than his age too. Waitresses at our favorite restraurant thought we were brother and sister!

Until recently, people have always presumed that I am about 2 years younger than I presently am.

Some people think so, and others don't. I'm going on 16 and people often think I am 13 or 14. It's partly because I dress like I'm younger and don't wear any make-up.

Yeah, someone where I worked thought I was a co-op student, but I was 27.

When I got my first job at 19 years old, the first person I met said that I looked like I was 12. This was not an uncommon thing, mind you. I still have people thinking I'm younger than I actually am (though I believe stress has aged me more than time).

One of the reasons that I think autistics may have low adrenaline levels is because this seems to be pretty common, and animals with low adrenaline levels have physical characteristics that usually only exist in younger versions of those animals.

Wow! Yes!! I have a lot of AS characteristics (maybe even diagnosable, though my parents never went that direction), and I have always looked WAAAAY younger than I actually am (18 now). At 10, I looked 7; at 17 I looked 13 or 14, though it has gotten better. I didn't go through *puberty* until 15-17 years of age; perhaps there's a connection there, too.

It was fun seeing the look on the clerk's face when I bought myself and my younger sister tickets to Black Swan yesterday :)

Most people think I look younger than I am, like 14 or 15, when I'm really 17, but sound like a 20 year old. :P

12 year old who likes like a 25 year old.
Oh wait, it's around the other way.
I'm 25 and look from anywhere between 12-15.

One of the characters on the show 'Hannah Montana' is 16/17 and is portrayed by a 33 year old man!

I've always gotten the exact opposite response from people guessing my age. I wear a goatee now which people say adds a few years but even when I was clean shaven in the Army people would guess way over. When I was 22 someone said I looked like I was in my mid 30s. Even now at 27 I still get early to mid 30s regularly. Very few people say late 20s, even when I was younger. The only time I get carded is when they're carding everyone.

Usually people are pretty suprised at my age......I am 21 but usually people think I'm between like 15-18 at first glance. So yeah I have to show id to get ciggerettes and alcohol, I've gotten some pretty intresting reactions.

I would think it's because my use of facial expressions is extremely limited if not nonexistent, and I never go out in the sun. I have been conscientiously avoiding UV radiation since I was in my teens, and it's paid off :D

People have been surprised when they learn my age, too. This has also been a theory of mine.

mine too..

I am 37, still get ID'd and kicked out of the liquer store....

A while ago, they wouldn't let my 24 year old boyfriend buy me beer with his ID either, and said I was only aloud in with a parent and not my boyfriend, lol....

A few years ago, they let my 11 year old cousin in a PG13 movie, but not me, so I have started wearing make-up now.

I'm too tall to pass as someone younger than a high school student. :(

That's because he's short. He also wears make-up on the show, and apparently something about the lighting makes him look younger. I hear in real life he has enough lines on his face to look his age.
