I wonder if my coworker made a social mistake today or if I'm overthinking about this...
Here's the thing: I have IBD and he knows it. Usually, I go to my breaks on a very specific schedule that tends to be off a few minutes here and there, but that's about it and I always have the same amount of breaks. However, today slightly after lunch I had to leave my work station twice within an hour outside of my normal routine 'cause my stomach was acting up, and apparently my coworker noticed 'cause, when we were cleaning up at the end of the day, he asked me if I'd had stomach problems today. Now, if it had been just the two of us there, I'd think nothing of it aside from maybe it being a little awkward, but there were other people there, people who don't know about my condition, so... wasn't it socially inappropriate of him to ask that in front of others? Or am I too sensitive? I mean, I am of the mindset that people should talk more openly about their health so that all the stigma and hush hush -culture would fade, but I still got a little uncomfortable.
