You will find a few people with autism / Asperger's on dating websites for "disabled" individuals, e.g.
http://www.dating4disabled.com/
http://www.datedisabled.com/
http://www.datingdisabled.net/
http://www.whispers4u.com/

(Disclaimer: I have never used any of those websites.)

I tried using D4D before but that site like most others had waaay to many guys for girls & a lot of the women were wanting a guy who's the opposite of a typical Aspie. I quit using it because I tried changing my email address & I apparently entered it wrong & couldn't relog in. I tried sending emails to em several times about it but I never heard back. I was talking with someone on Yahoo who uses it the other day & she told me that they are charging for membership now & the site is not as good as it used to be.

I don't think dating sites for Aspeis are a good idea unless the guys are gay because of the high ratio of Aspie men to Aspie women

I would recommend No Longer Lonely. It's a dating site for people with mental illnesses/disorders/issues & you can select Autism/Asperger's in a check-box for diagnoses. They also have a forum & another member there has mentioned probably having AS to. It's a pretty good site that's trying to grow. It's completely free but you can buy a membership for a one time $20 payment; you don't get many extra features/benefits but I think of it as a donation

I am now recommending AVOIDING NoLongerLonely. I had been a member of there for a couple years. It is a great site with a lot of potential but there is one major problem. The webmaster, Jim does not listen or care about members & he also condones trolling. He personally reviews & approves each member’s profile. He allows a troll to have 3 different profiles there & after a couple weeks of complaints by lots of members; Jim approved for the troll to have a 4th profile that had an almost identical SN as one of his others that members had been reporting. I left NLL a few weeks ago because I do NOT want to be part of a site that will condone trolling; that gives people with mental issues a bad rep.

Have these websites been effective? I tried an aspie dating site a while ago (forgot the name of it) but I couldn't find anyone in my area, and I live in a big city.

Check out www.asdating.org - It's completley free to send messages and complete a detailed profile. We hope to bring together a community of people on the spectrum who can share their special interests and not feel judged or out of place.

Here's Uneepi - Autism Dating & Social Community. The owner lives in the Bronx and visited one of the local in-person support group meetings earlier this year. Among other things, he claimed that his site has only a 2 to 1 male-to-female ratio due to successful recruitment of women from Felicity House here in NYC. (I don't know whether this is true or not.) I can't vouch for the site's quality, never having used it.

Someone should tell the owner that the puzzle piece logo isn't a symbol of the autistic community -- it's a symbol of the puzzled parents and the puzzled professionals, and some autistic people find it offensive due to its association with Autism Speaks.
