Remember Anna Nicole Smith? Everyone slammed her for marrying that old, old man, calling her all kinds of names, I don't remember much being said about his motivation. It's actually ok in our society for a man to buy a woman, but the woman is wrong for being bought.
Power, it's about power. I speak a woman who had more than a few opportunities in younger years for being "kept" or having made a "good match". Silly me, I thought it was about love, and still ended up in a mess more than once.

The post started with some man talking about jobs, and how much money he had to make to get a "decent" woman to look at him, kind of evolved :)
