I already asked whether difficulties in non-verbal communication go away with meds. How about the difficulty with small talk, the thought stops, and flattened affect, etc.? Does anyone have any idea or experience?

Anti-anxiety meds may make it a little easier to initiate conversations with people you wouldn't otherwise.

I find that paxil, a SSRI, helps me a little. It takes a bit of the edge of the the obsessive thoughts, and it relieves the social anxiety, so it makes it a bit easier for me to to have a normal conversation. It's not a cure, though. It just helps a bit.

What I'm taking certainly doesn't help with any of my social difficulties, I'm afraid, but it has very greatly helped with my moods.
