I'm a biomedical equipment technician, currently repairing lab equipment. If you've ever seen it in a hospital, I've probably worked on it.

Next job will hopefully be writer. I'm currently working on a novel (fingers crossed).

I'm currently a software tester. I've tried programming but I tend to get bogged down. I've always been more efficient at examining someone else's creations than in creating something myself so this career has worked out well. There's at least one and probably two other aspies at my company. I haven't discussed it with them but it's pretty obvious.

Aside from being a med student, I'm a part time supervisor in a transport terminal. Not really close to my study, but economy sucks in my country at the moment and one has to make a living.

Hehehe... Me too! :D

Me too! I graduated from college, quite my job as a Training Specialist all in 1 month. Now I'm learning to not feel guilty about it and figure out how to pay my college loan off. By the way I am really good at homeschooling also.

Funnily enough for one so unwilling to communicate, I'm a radio presenter. Having no feedback from real people after you've told a joke or said something really takes the pressure off!

I also work at the World Service as a sound engineer and since I really feel at home with the other techies there, I'm sure it's an AS haven. FAB!

I'm currently doing IT work (and I love it), my title is Network Analyst Assistant. I kind of fell into the job, since it would usually require a BS and I dropped out of college (I'm self-taught as far as my computer skills go). Thankfully, my dad used to work here and some friends of his got me the job.

Past jobs: Dollar store clerk; Jimmy John's delivery driver; Gyro stand worker at summerfest; hotel maintenance; dorm maintenance; Computer store sales; dishwasher; bus-boy. Needless to say, it's quite an improvement.

I am right now a technical writer working for a company that manuafactures road construction equipment (pavers, compactors). I have previously worked as a political science professor (I was denied tenure by the college President because of college politics, and some higher ups did not like my lecture style of teaching), and a statistician with the Pennsylvania state government. I liked my job as a statistician in the Department of Labor and Industry, but I had to leave it because it did not help us pay the bills. I had a three-month stint at the Department of Education which I had to leave because I was under a highly NT boss who was prone to extreme mood swings. One day, she would be really nice, and the next day, she would be nasty. I was constantly on the phone trying to gather statistics on public school teachers and it required a lot of interaction--the job was definitely more suited for an NT. Also, the job required multitasking skills--say no more. In between salaried jobs, I worked in grocery stores as a stock clerk--I hated it.

I went to school and got a degree in biology during that time I worked summers in construction.
After I finished I found the interviews intolerable and the money just as bad. I contuied with the construction I loved it ussally I worked alone more as a troubleshooter for things that went wrong I got the rep. of being able to fix most anything and being a pain to other workers telling them what a poor job they were doing not making many friends. Bosses change with time and soon found myself being more and more responsible for other people and taken atvantage of and quit starting my own company just me doing just about anything usually insulation or light carpentry .

Now I'm on social security and I work 3 hours a day 5 days a week either copying documents at city hall or scanning slides and putting them into a database we're supposed to get.
I've been a mail clerk in the Royal Norwegian Navy, I originally wanted to be a cook but my security clearance was too high, I have tried to become a cartoonist and a graphic designer, both wich I have thankfully long since given up on...
Now, after finding out the bad way that my brain explodes if I ever try to go to school again, I'm either considering finding a job mowing lawns and clearing snow or going permanently on social security so I can spend all my time looking at internet porn...

I really want to be a musician/singer/painter/illustrator, etc., but sucking at math and science, being paranoid and shy and having to use 5 times as much time on learning theory, I can just forget going to college. The kind of colleges there are in England and the US would probably have been better for me because there are so many different colleges and so many kinds of degrees and subjects you can choose from. Of cause I just had to be born in the wrong part of the world...

I am currently a postgraduate student doing research into social policy and access to employment in the UK (possibly comparative with australia). Great fun, but hard work!! !

does that constitute a career?

And yet your profile says that your are "AS- diagnosed". I didn't think the military was taking Aspies.

I've never heard of such a thing. Were they worried that one day you'd be standing in front of a cauldron of soup and start spilling state secrets to the sous-chef out of sheer boredom?
