Very sad. I hope Christchurch members will post and say that they are ok.

Not good, not good. Rang our ChCh office, no one there, no cellphones working, can't get ahold of anyone. Airport closed except for medivac only (oh and the control tower fell down) which means many dead and injured. :(
I have heard from most of my family and friends so far they OK, not their houses though.

Yes, HelixStein is well. I am shaken, but well. Due to being in a library at the time; I doubt that I will be able to enter that potential tomb for several weeks.

Hoping that all Christchurch members and their loved ones are safe. Fingers crossed there aren't as many aftershocks.

Hope you that guys down there are alright. Looks like a lot of damage was done to the city as the focal point of the quake was real close to the city.

The epicentre was located in Lyttleton, which is about 10 KM East of the city.

Thank you for being concerned. I learnt that they were back home in Qatar a few days prior earlier on today.
