I had a friend who used to work in Africa, she said it was fairly common for people to give their children names that they thought were nice sounding English names. She told me she met a little girl called Refridgerator. Her parents spoke no English but had heard this 'name' somewhere and thought it sounded nice.

Well, they could pronounce it 'Fa-chay buuk', that sounds vaguely Middle-Eastern...
