To quote a post that wasn't for you, but then making an out of the blue rant, like it was about you? If its not narcissism, what is it?

A. This is a public bulletin board. If you did not want something read you would send it otherwise or write in code or some foreign lingo - though that is risky.

B. Possibly the person intended feels that the wording somehow apples to it, her, or him. Without a specific instance I cannot tell

C. I have recently been informed that although everybody still calls everybody else narcissist it has been removed from the Great Schedule of Not Fully Normal People and is no longer a recognized Disorder or whatever.

I'd noticed a sudden lack of reference to it.

So- you meant to bash person A. Person A ingnored your post, but person B got offended and insulted and posted an angry reply. This reply became the start of whole long thread.

you're asking whether that makes person B a "naracissist".

It all depends on what you said and what they said, and on the context, and much else.

You can send private messages to fellow wrongplanet members. If you posted the message in public-then its public- and fair game for anyone to respond to, and its up to you phrase things in a way as to not be misunderstood. Maybe you're misunderstanding person B.
If you addressing person A with the statement that "all Episcopalians are child molesters", and person B was a Episcopalian then it would be predictable that person B would be insulted whether you were addressing him or not.

Like I said. It all depends.

No, that would be my cat. I just operate the laser-light for her at night, on demand, and pet her in the morning, on demand...

I have the same cat, but the male version! He's got arthritis in his back legs though, so he deserves some fuss :P

Main thing is to supply five different brands of food when (s)he decides to get fussy.

Do NOT bring out the 6th till thode have all been rejected.

No . Be firm. Do NOT get on a roll with cat stories.

ONCE had an Abyssinian that was more like a very shy dog than a cat.
