Really? Explains the genius in him then. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Nick Drake was an aspie. He sure didn't seem to be neurotypical.

It's not up to me to diagnose singers and band members.

If you're really interested in my opinions about this, you can read my blog. I've diagnosed enough people in these threads.

I don't mean to keep playing Doubting Thomas, but ... diagnosed by whom, exactly (apart from Gary Numan, whose case is well known)?

I agree that from what I've read about him Nick Drake may have been an aspie, but there's no way we can ever know for sure.

Unfortunately. Great man while he was alive. Created some of the most beautiful guitar pieces I've heard.

Indeed he did. Unlike a lot of stuff from that era, his music never really dates either.

I dunno, but I might as well throw it out there again that The Bicycling Guitarist was officially diagnosed with Asperger's at least twice in the past ten years. I am fifty years old now. Until I was nearly forty years old, I didn't have a clue why I experienced life so differently than most people. Asperger's Syndrome explains a lot about my life, especially why I became The Bicycling Guitarist. Bicycling and Guitaring are both forms of stimming. I do both at once to find some peace for my body and my mind. It is a meditation in motion.

Thats crazy man I can't even listen to somebody talk while I play guitar without f***ing up lol you're a real multitasker

I don't think of it as multitasking. It isn't doing two things, bicycling and guitaring. It is doing one thing: bicycle guitaring.

If I thought about what I was doing, I'd probably crash. I just do it. Now that I am older I recognize it as a form of yoga, but when I started in the early 1980s it was just a way to combine two of my favorite activities with the serendipitous result that my body finds some relief from sensory issues and my mind finds some relief from hyperactive thought patterns.
